Predictors of Television Programmes Quality in Tanzania: Analysis of Stakeholders’ Perspectives

There have been complaints over the quality of television programmes in Tanzania from various groups including; professionals, viewers, programme sponsors and media authorities. Recognizing role played by availability diverse perspectives on amount such compliments, this study sought to establish an understanding how stakeholders view TV programmes. The triangulated quantitative qualitative methods order a better understanding. involved total 70 respondents that included; producers, sponsors, managers, telecom/electronics engineers/technicians. has used questionnaire interviews collect data these respondents. Based collected, found term “quality” context production is “erratic” due absence specific standards for measuring it save different professionalism, business/sponsorships, editorial polices, creativity cultural orientations. In sustain control, recommends among other things, establishment control boards or assurance unit government spearheading bridge professionalism.
